Professional Education Competence Program PEC • The Professional Education Competence Program is a state requirement for new teachers who hold temporary certificates. - - OCSD did not make this up! • The training is focused on the Florida Educator Accomplished Practices (FEAPS) and the district’s evaluation system. • Your participation in PEC will be on record with the Department of Education.

FEAP 2 The Learning Environment To maintain a student-centered learning environment that is safe, organized, equitable, flexible, inclusive, and collaborative, the effective educator consistently: a. Organizes, allocates, and manages the resources of time, space, and attention; b. Manages individual and class behaviors through a well-planned management system; c. Conveys high expectations to all students; d. Respects students’ cultural linguistic and family background; e. Models clear, acceptable oral and written communication skills; f. Homework assignments are aligned to something you can use in your classroom! Each Homework assignment is aligned to a FEAP as well as a Domain in the Evaluation System.
