OBJECTIVE • Introduction of myself • Classroom climate, expectations, grading • Curriculum/resources • Ways to communicate

PAUL DAVIS • 23 rd year teaching 22 nd here in White Plains High School, 19 th teaching World History AP since its inception 19 years ago • AP College Board Certified teacher • B. A. in History and Secondary Education, M. S in Secondary Education in the Social Studies • Available mornings, lunch and e-mail, text, website, remind, etc ( see contacts)

CLIMATE • Students enter room, take materials, get seated and begin do now ( usually mc, reading from previous day’s lesson and homework). • Daily quizzes based on previous day’s notes and homework. • Cornell notes: begins in class and carries over for homework • Bell to bell instruction where students read, write, inquire, work in groups, • Home work everyday (usually get started in class) explained at the beginning, middle and end of class- usually should take no more than 20 minutes, often reading. Helps with daily quizzes • Grading ( available on my website and your hand-out) • Students are asked to remain organized, work their hardest and communicate any questions or concerns ( plenty of contact opportunities)
