Graduation Plans FHSP w/ Endorsement(s) • 4 English (English I, English II, English • • III, and advanced English) 4 Math (including Algebra I and Geometry) 4 Science (including Biology and a Lab Science) 3 Social Studies (W. Geography or W. History, US History, Gov’t, and Econ) PE (1 credit) Fine Art (1 credit) Foreign Language (2 credits of the same language) Electives (7 credits) DLA w/ Endorsement(s) • Meet all the requirements of the FHSP with Endorsement • Complete Algebra II as one of the required math credits NOTE: • Elective choices will be dependent upon the endorsement the student is seeking. • Some endorsements will require more class completions. 26 total credits

Endorsements The purpose of the FHSP graduation plans is to…. • Instill flexibility in public education by enabling students to either pursue a traditional path into colleges and universities or move directly into the workforce (ex. Welding, Cosmetology certifications) • An endorsement is similar to a college major • Students can earn an endorsement in one of the following areas: 1. STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) 2. Business and Industry 3. Public Services 4. Arts and Humanities 5. Multidisciplinary Studies

Why choose early? Having a plan early allows students the chance to take advantage of all opportunities that exist in Humble ISD. • Choosing a path early does not “lock” students into that path! Students can change their mind! • Exploring options early gives students a chance to figure out what they like and what they do not like. •

Why are students being guided to choose a career pathway?

Languages Other Than English (2 credits required) • Choose from the following languages offered at AHS: – Spanish – French – Latin – American Sign Language (ASL) (CANNOT BE TAKEN FRESHMAN YEAR) • Must take 2 years of the SAME language – Ex: Spanish 1 & Spanish 2

Fine Arts (1 credit required) • CHOICES ⁻ Art ⁻ Theatre Arts ⁻ Orchestra ⁻ Band ⁻ Choir ⁻ Dance ⁻ Drill Team • Notes ⁻ A full year of Dance 1 or Drill Team 1 allow students to earn 1 Fine Art credit AND 1 PE credit. ⁻ Band 1 and Band 2 allows students to earn 1 full credit of Fine Arts and 0. 5 of PE.

Physical Education (1 credit required) • • PE Classes Athletics (any school sport) Fall semesters of Band 1 and Band 2 Junior ROTC Drill Team 1 Dance 1 Off-Campus PE through approved vendor ( requires application)

Required State Assessments In addition to earning required credits, all students must meet at least the Level Two standard on 5 End-Of-Course exams to meet graduation requirements. • • • English II Algebra I Biology U. S. History EOCs listed in bold are typically taken during the freshman year, depending on the student’s schedule.

Students will select courses through Naviance 1 www. my. humbleisd. net 2 Students will be directed to the Applications page and Login: First 3 letters of first name + first 3 letters of last select the Naviance app name + last 4 of student ID# (ex: Jane Smith 012345 = jansmi 345 Password: Unique to student 3 Students will complete course selections in Naviance

Course Selection Timeline and Important Dates • A “High School 101” presentation is available for students and parents to view on the AMS, TMS, WLMS, and AHS websites. • AHS Counselors will work with your student in Naviance to complete their Four Year Plan on the following dates: WLMS January 13 th & 14 th AMS January 20 th & 21 st TMS February 3 rd & 4 th NOTE - Parents may begin working with their student on their four year plan AFTER the AHS Counselor visit. • Naviance will close for 2021 -2022 course selection at the beginning of March 2021. Students and parents can make changes in Naviance up until that date.

• SPRING - Students will receive course verifications on two different occasions after the close of Naviance. Verification sheets will be distributed in the Spring on the middle school campus. This distribution is tentatively scheduled for the beginning of April and the beginning of May. Changes will be made on the verification sheet received and returned to their middle school counselor. * Classes fill up quickly so it is important that the courses desired to be taken are selected prior to the closure of Naviance. After the closure, there is no guarantee a course will be open for enrollment. * Elective changes are not allowed after the due date of the 2 nd verification sheet. (Due date will be listed on the 2 nd verification sheet). Students are only allowed to make level changes at flight school. It is important to make sure electives are selected accurately and wisely.
