Endorsements The purpose of the FHSP graduation plans is to…. • Instill flexibility in public education by enabling students to either pursue a traditional path into colleges and universities or move directly into the workforce (ex. Welding, Cosmetology certifications) • An endorsement is similar to a college major • Students can earn an endorsement in one of the following areas: 1. STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) 2. Business and Industry 3. Public Services 4. Arts and Humanities 5. Multidisciplinary Studies

Students can change their mind! • Exploring options early gives students a chance to figure out what they like and what they do not like. •

Course Selection Timeline and Important Dates • A “High School 101” presentation is available

Course Selection Timeline and Important Dates • A “High School 101” presentation is available for students and parents to view on the AMS, TMS, WLMS, and AHS websites. • AHS Counselors will work with your student in Naviance to complete their Four Year Plan on the following dates: WLMS January 13 th & 14 th AMS January 20 th & 21 st TMS February 3 rd & 4 th NOTE - Parents may begin working with their student on their four year plan AFTER the AHS Counselor visit. • Naviance will close for 2021 -2022 course selection at the beginning of March 2021. Students and parents can make changes in Naviance up until that date.

• SPRING - Students will receive course verifications on two different occasions after the close of Naviance. Verification sheets will be distributed in the Spring on the middle school campus. This distribution is tentatively scheduled for the beginning of April and the beginning of May. Changes will be made on the verification sheet received and returned to their middle school counselor. * Classes fill up quickly so it is important that the courses desired to be taken are selected prior to the closure of Naviance. After the closure, there is no guarantee a course will be open for enrollment. * Elective changes are not allowed after the due date of the 2 nd verification sheet. (Due date will be listed on the 2 nd verification sheet). Students are only allowed to make level changes at flight school. It is important to make sure electives are selected accurately and wisely.
