Project Goals • Increase capacity for arriving and departing aircraft on the main runway • Increase available aircraft parking on the main apron • Improve aircraft movement on the main apron • Be completed by March 31, 2011

Background • Existing airport was originally constructed during second world war for military training purposes • Ownership of the airport was taken over by the City of Abbotsford in 1997 • Abbotsford International Airport Master Plan identified a need for upgrades • Total estimated cost $30 million; project funding from the Infrastructure Stimulus Fund Key Players • Funding Partners: Government of Canada ($10 million), Government of British Columbia ($10 million), Abbotsford International Airport ($10 million) • Project Management: Abbotsford International Airport • Design, Tendering & Construction Administration: Hatch Mott Mac.
