Edmentum • • The PYP is going through enhancements and Agency as well as personalised learning is taking a forefront. As a school, we have partnered with Exact Path (Edmentum's language and math learning platform. ) It is a research based and widely used platform in schools globally and works from the Common Core learning objectives. Week 37, 38 and 39 will be diagnostic weeks for Edmentum. We kindly request that your child will avoid making absences during these weeks. Please inform us when your child need to make absences in advance. 6

(Emails are still welcome… ) If you have more than one child at school, you can manage multiple children’s accounts using Toddle family app. • • • Information about GDPR • Definition of sensitive information under the GDPR: data consisting of racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, or trade union membership, genetic data, biometric data, data concerning health or data concerning a natural person's sex life or sexual orientation. School will not send any SENSITIVE information in e-mails. 8

Absence and Attendance • If your child is going to be absent from school

Absence and Attendance • If your child is going to be absent from school (is sick/has a doctor’s appointment/dentist appointment, please report this using the Submit Attendance Excusal on Toddle. This should be done before 8. 15. • Absences due to reasons other than illness or doctor or dentist appointments require permission from the class teacher and/or head of school. In accordance with Swedish law, you are allowed only 10 days per school year. The first 3 such days can be approved by the class teacher 4 to 10 days must also be approved by the head of school. Beyond 10 days will be approved by the Kommun Department. • Your child’s attendance is recorded at the beginning of the day. Classes start at 8: 15 and end at 14: 00.

Bring water bottle and indoor shoes Read the policies and Parent Handbook (website) Birthdays: If you would like to celebrate your child’s birthday with their class then you are welcome to send a fruit snack for your child to share with everyone. If you want to give birthday invitations at school, then please invite the entire class. Please do not send any toys or personal to school If your child has lost or misplaced an item, please look in the Lost and Found Boxes under the stairs in the Yellow Entrance door. We ask you kindly to label all outdoor clothes and shoes (indoor shoes as well).

Homework • Teachers will assign homework on Fridays even weeks and students are asked to return it Thursday of the following week. • As part of the enhanced PYP, there will be a stronger focus on student agency, and during odd weeks, students will have a chance to develop skills from their own interest. • Reading daily for pleasure will remain as an ongoing homework task every week.
