2 Welcome Remarks: Jaime Crosen History of Elgin High School: Alan Flota ■ EHS was established in 1869, we are one of the oldest high schools in Illinois ■ Forty thousand plus students have graduated from Elgin High School since the first commencement in 1872. ■ Our building was built in 1972, this being the third location of EHS ■ Elgin High is 400, 00 plus square feet located on 68 acres of land

14 Elective Course Choices ● Elective courses should be selected based on student interests or career aspirations. ● Some electives are a full year (2 credits) and some are just one semester (1 credit). ● Please make sure that your son/daughter select at least four (six is better) electives that are interest and that you know the choices. ● Refer to the Freshman Curriculum Guide & the Course Selection Resource Guide to learn more about your choices for Elective courses including a course description and a brief view from U-46 students and staff!
