Summer Packet: üDUE Thursday 9/10/15!! üWill count as your FIRST Test of the marking period! üAny students that hands it in TODAY will receive extra 10 points üAny students that hands it in TOMORROW will receive extra 5 points. üNO LATE packet will be accepted… üNext Tuesday: 9/15/15 will have our Summer Packet Test. üIf lost, can be retrieved my website.

MATERIALS NEEDED: ü Textbook / laptop (fully charged) ü 3 – ring binder ü PENCILS!!! ü Highlighters ü Scientific calculator and/or Graphing calculator (to use at home)

Protect Our Learning Environment The students are responsible to: ØTreat each person in this room with respect and dignity. ØCome to class ON TIME ØCome to class prepared – bring all necessary materials with you daily.

PROCEDURES: Classroom routines: ØSharpen pencils as soon as you enter the classroom. v Immediately begin “Do Now ” and have HW ready for me to check. ØAsk to go to the bathroom during independent class work time not during instructional time – EMERGENCIES ONLY!! v. Ask permission to leave seat. ØAny garbage will be thrown away at the beginning or end of class – DO NOT INTERRUPT! ØSign in and out when leaving the room – MUST have an ID to leave the room!! v. When I need class’ attention, I will raise my hand. ØI dismiss you, NOT the bell! – No standing by the door to leave.

Class work and homework policy ØYou are expected to show ALL work (unless told otherwise). NO WORK = NO CREDIT! v NO late assignments will be accepted. Students are only allowed to make up missed work if he/she were absent.

Absences and make up work: v. You are responsible to make up work when you are absent – otherwise missed work will be given a zero grade. ØAll class work/homework will be posted on the website. ØAll dittos (handouts) will be posted on the website. v. You have three school days to make up any work.

In-school suspension (ISS)/Out-ofschool suspension (OSS): Students are TO DO the work given. Any work not completed and return will receive a zero grade.

Cut: Students are N O T to make up any work when caught cutting the class. Students will receive a zero grade.

HOW YOU ARE GRADED ü 45% TEST: given at end of each chapter Notebook check: Checked at the end of the marking period -20 points: “Do Now” -10 points: Objectives -30 points: Class notes (Hand outs) -40 points: CW/HW ü 25% Quiz: given at least ONCE a week ü 15% - Class work / Homework ü 15% - Class participation / Preparedness **FINAL EXAM is 20% of your year grade**

Lateness/tardiness: v. When the bell rings, students are considered LATE! – (must sign in the late book) ØStudent will receive a teacher detention (the next day); then office detention for chronic lateness. v If student is 30 minutes late to class without a pass, he / she will be consider as a C U T!.

Fire drills/security drills: ü Follow the signs around the classroom. ü Take it seriously!! ü No talking, no cellphones

CONSEQUENCES Consequences students will face when rules are broken: q 1 st offense – verbal warning q 2 nd offense – 5 min. before/after school detention/phone call home q 3 rd offense – 15 min. after school detention and phone call home. q. Severe/repeated incidents – (fights; damages school property – teacher, and other students; disrespectful) SENT to office!!

Extra credits: Extra credit is a privilege N O T mandatory.

Substitute teacher: v. Students are responsible to respect substitute teacher as they respect their regular teacher. All assignments given in class by the substitute teacher will be collected, graded, and counted as a Q UIZ!
