Why its so important…. “A child’s earliest years, from their birth to the time they reach statutory school age, are crucial. All the research shows that this stage of learning and development matters more than any other”. OFSTED Attendance at nursery is important for children’s physical, cognitive, emotional and social development. Nursery supports children to develop relationships which they can build on later at school. Attending nursery also enables parents to work helping to mitigate the impact of poverty. Camden nurseries have implemented measures that mean they are safe for your child, and nursery staff can offer you lots of support, secure in the knowledge that your child is safe whilst they are also learning and developing new skills ready for their next phase of education camden. gov. uk
National guidance for early years settings National guidance sets out the actions that nurseries must take to keep children safe. The ‘system of controls’ provides a set of principles that when followed will effectively minimise risks. All settings must cover them all, but the way different settings implement some of the requirements will differ based on their individual circumstances and will be detailed in the setting risk assessment. 1) Minimise contact with individuals who are unwell by ensuring that those who have coronavirus (COVID-19) symptoms, or who have someone in their household who does, do not attend settings 2) Clean hands thoroughly, more often than usual 3) Ensure good respiratory hygiene by promoting the ‘catch it, bin it, kill it’ approach 4) Introduce enhanced cleaning, including cleaning frequently touched surfaces 5) Minimise contact between groups where possible, and minimise mixing between different ‘rooms’ or year groups. camden. gov. uk
