New Ideas • Make yourself a Vocabulary Section of your binder. ▫ You may want to add a tab or you may want to use the “Other” Section. • Instead of adding the vocabulary word to your notes, keep a growing list of the vocabulary words in this new “Vocabulary Section”. ▫ This way, when it comes time to study Vocabulary for tests/quizzes, you have all your words and definitions in one place.
For Example: Vocabulary Words *TEST 1 Vocabulary* 1/6/15 • Word – Definition • Word - Definition
Vocabulary • Slope – the ratio of the RISE to the RUN; the ratio of the VERTICAL change to the HORIZONTAL change • Does this sound familiar? ? ?
Notes The slope of a line is always constant. Since slope is a rate of change, it can be positive, negative, or zero.
Example 1 Use Ride and Run to Find Slope
Example 2 Use Ride and Run to Find Slope What is the slope of a wheelchair ramp that rises 2 inches for every horizontal change of 24 inches? Write as a fraction in simplest form.
