Welcome Back Dear Children We are looking forward
Welcome Back!
• Dear Children, • We are looking forward to welcoming some of you back to school on Monday. Please read through this presentation with an adult so that you know what to expect next week. • When you do come back, you may notice a few changes that have been put in place to keep you and everybody in our school community safe. We would like to share some of these with you so that you know what to look out for on your return. • Next week we will all be learning and talking about ‘Wellbeing. ’ We want to help and support everybody with strategies to stay healthy, happy and well during these unusual times.
In the meantime, we hope you find this information helpful in preparation for next week.
Staying Safe! • When you return to school, our ‘Good to be Green’ rules and values are still the same. We want to make sure that our school is still a safe and happy place for everybody…….
. . using our gospel values of Love, Care and Respect
COVID Code of Conduct We have added some extra rules to keep everybody safe. This is called our COVID Code of Conduct. You may already know some of these rules if you have been listening to the news or if you have been out for a walk with your family. 1. Look for new signs around school and listen carefully to instructions.
COVID Code of Conduct You may have heard of ‘social distancing’ or the 2 metre rule. Around our school there will be lots of markers on the floor to help you keep 2 metres between yourself and everybody in our school. 2. Always follow the 2 m social distancing rule and stay with your own group.
COVID Code of Conduct Please remember to have a tissue in your pocket or up your sleeve at all times. There will be boxes of tissues in every class so that you can replace yours if you need to. • th • • 3. Help to stop the spread of germs by always carrying a tissue
COVID Code of Conduct • Hand hygiene is extremely important. Your classroom will have two bottles of hand sanitizer to help reduce the spread of germs. Your group will also be sent to the toilet during the day to wash your hands. 4. Regularly wash your hands for 20 seconds and use the sanitizers provided.
COVID Code of Conduct • We all have a responsibility to look after each other. Please be considerate at all times. Use your tissue to help stop the spread of germs. 5. Never cough or spit at or towards another person.
Arriving in the morning • When you arrive on the first morning, at 9. 10 am there will be numbers on the railings by the gate you come into school from. This is to allow you and your parents to line up at a safe social distance when you are waiting to come into school. On the playground there will be markings on the floor to help you keep 2 metres apart as well as signs and arrows to help you follow the one way system. Please do not bring anything to school with you apart from an outdoor coat, if needed and your packed lunch in a throw away plastic bag
Arriving in the morning On the first day back the KS 1 gates will be open at and 9. 00 am. Please enter school via this gate where you will be met by staff. A member of staff will be waiting to sign your name on the register before you enter school. You will be asked to wash and dry your hands as soon as you enter your class and then please use the sanitiser by the sink to keep your hands clean.
Around the School • You will notice that the school may not seem as busy as you remember; this is to keep everybody safe. Not all of our pupils will be back yet and there will only be 12 Y 6 children in each group, and 15 Y 1 in the bubble. Some areas of the school will be out of bounds for children. Remember to look for the signs to keep you safe.
In class • When you arrive in school, staff will help you to find the classroom with your bubble and teachers in. You have all been put into a group called a bubble. There will be some children in your bubble from the same class as you and some may be from another class. • You might not be in your old classroom and you might well have different teachers, but you will be very well looked after in your bubble. There will be a sign on your classroom door with the number of your bubble on it. BUBBLE 7
In class • When you enter your classroom, you will be given your own desk. In every classroom the desks will be 2 metres apart so that we can follow the social distancing rule. You will also be given a plastic tray with a white label on for your name and your equipment inside it. This can be kept on your desk.
Staying Sun Safe & Hydrated • The water fountains will be out of use. Instead you can bring a clear water bottle filled with water and fill it at the sinks in the Bubble. • If you have no sink in the classroom , staff will take you to fill it up. • Please remember to put on sun cream in the morning before you leave the house.
Lunch times and Play Times • At playtimes you will be able to play with the children in your group. We have split the playground into zones to keep you safe. It is important that you stay with the children in your group. Sometimes, the staff will organise equipment and games for you to play with. Please listen to instructions about where your group can play.
Lunch • Every morning your teachers will tell you what is on the menu for lunch. You will be able to choose from a selection of sandwiches. This will be served with a piece of fruit, a drink and a treat. Your lunch will be delivered to your classroom to eat with your group. You will not be eating in the dining room.
Toilets • Every group has been assigned their own toilets. Your teachers will show you which toilets you are allowed to use. Everybody in your group will use the same toilets. Look out for the coloured poster on the toilet doors to help you.
Information • Children can wear their own clothes, there is no need for uniform, please send them to school sensibly dressed with appropriate shoes to enable then to play outside. • Y 6 will return at 9. 00 am on Monday 29 th June • Y 1 will return at 9 am om Wednesday 1 st July • Y 1 and Y 6 pupils will finish school at 12. 20 pm on a Friday afternoon.
See you next week! • We hope that this has been useful in preparing you for next week. It is very important for us to keep you and all of the other children and staff in our school community safe. We hope that the changes that we have made will keep everybody safe and healthy. • If you have any questions, you can write them down and bring them to school with you next week. You will have chance to talk with your teachers and class. • We look forward to seeing you. • Mrs Mousley all of the SSPP Staff
