What is Physical Science? • Physical Science is an introduction to chemistry and physics. • Chemistry is a science that deals with the composition, structure, and properties of substances and with the transformations that they undergo. • Physics is a science that deals with matter and energy and their interactions in the fields of mechanics, acoustics, optics, heat, electricity, magnetism, radiation, atomic structure, and nuclear phenomena.
Why should I care? • You use chemistry everyday when you bathe, use fuel in a car, use the air conditioner and when you eat. • You use physics everyday when you move, look at things, turn on your lights and toss a piece of paper on the desk. • You will use them in almost any career that you end up in.
