Mission Statement The Johnson Ranch Racquet Club Barracuda Swim Team is a recreation-based age group competitive swimming program committed to providing every participant with high quality swim technique training in an environment that is safe and fun. We believe that the Barracuda emphasis on sportsmanship, family participation, teamwork and continual strive to "Do your best! " teaches essential life skills that will lead to a lifetime of fitness, personal and professional success for our children.

Championships 2016 July 16 -17: Solano Community College • • • The event the team is working toward all season This is a required 2 -day meet – 6&U swim Saturday only – Preliminary races in the morning, Finals and Relays in the afternoon Swimmers must participate in a minimum of 2 “league meets” to be eligible Swimmers must be excused from Champs if there is a circumstance that prevents them from attending. – Email Kirsten Carleson at championship@johnsonranchbarracudas. com for request to be excused. Parent Commitment – 2 volunteer shifts per family; in addition to regular season shifts – Sign-ups will be available online in late June/early July Barracudas have been Comstock League Champions in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 & 2015!!
Reminders: 1. Verify t-shirt size at table (last chance to order $5 extra shirts) 2. Verify swimmer name for cap if NEW swimmer or if you ordered for returning swimmers 3. Practice Information • Which practice does your swimmer attend? – On website, Location on your swimmer’s account shows the practice level – Coaches assign practice levels for each swimmer – Coaches will make adjustments and notify parents of changes – Swimmers must attend assigned practice level • Attend minimum 3 days /week, up to 5 times per week • Swimmers need to have at practice: – JRRC Membership card when coming to the club – Cap, goggles, and fins • On deck and ready to get in the water 10 minutes before start time – This 10 minutes is used for dry-land and/or video • What do I do if I have a question for a coach? – Please do not approach coaches on deck – Please email the appropriate Assistant Coach. Commitments • Barracuda Participation – “Swimming is a sport of habits” • Attending practices and meets is key to improving – Parent volunteers are essential to the sport of swimming! • In order to maintain efficiently run swim meets, fun social activities, and fundraising events, ALL parents are required to volunteer several hours each swim season. This benefits each and every swimmer on our team! • Swimmer Code of Conduct – Sportsmanship is a key principal of our team and as such we need to make sure that the behavior of our swimmers, coaches, and parents is a good reflection of our team and Johnson Ranch as a club

Volunteer 2016 - Guidelines Volunteer sign-up will open TOMORROW March 30 th at 7: 00 pm PST through Wednesday April 13 th for all families ● Volunteer = Information!! ● Each family is responsible for 6 volunteer shifts during regular season ● Each family is responsible for 2 shifts at Champs - late June/early July sign ups ● Opportunity for PRE-SIGN UP’s - jobs require teams and specific coverage/training ● Stroke n Turn ● Set Up / Take Down - Team (Coordinator Rob Peters) ● Colorado ● Computer ● Floaters MUST CHECK IN AND BE RELEASED to get credit for shift. ● Descriptions of volunteer jobs online! Age Group Tents & Relay Tent • Age Group Tents for 6&Unders and 7/8 Age groups – Age group parents are responsible for: • Being point of contact for the parents, swimmers and coaches for questions related to the meet throughout the meet • Responsible for helping parents of swimmers get their events/heats/lanes (write on arm) for the meet • Responsible for helping write relay slips and help swimmers get paired up in their relay teams and to the blocks on time • Be the main point of contact prior to the age group event to help all swimmers get to the ready bench/blocks on time – Age group parents are not babysitters. Please do not leave your kids without a parent. • Checkin/Relay Tent – What is it? • Place to go to find out events/heats/lanes for all swimmers • Place to meet for 9 and Up Relays! – Checkin Volunteers will be responsible for: • Working this tent during relay periods during the morning and afternoon relays
