Now you are going to create your own lab and separate a mixture! 1. It is up to you (the scientist) to find a way to solve this problem! You need to separate this mixture physically. 2. Tomorrow you will be given a mixture of sand, salt, iron filings (little pieces of iron), and mini marshmellows! 3. How could you possibly separate this mixture using: a strainer, ring stand, candle in holder, beakers, cup with holes in the bottom, a tray, a magnet, and goggles.

TODAY • You are going to write the lab procedure for how you are going to separate this mixture (sand, salt iron filings, mini-marshmallows) using the tools mentioned (a strainer, ring stand, candle in holder, beakers, cup with holes in the bottom, a tray, a magnet, and goggles)! • Step by step you need write out IN DETAIL how you will start, continue, and finish separating this mixture! • This procedure will need to be a numbered list!
