Weekly Challenge 11 05 20 Mini beast pebbles
Weekly Challenge 11. 05. 20 Mini beast pebbles This activity is designed to encompass several areas of learning we were working on, from speaking and listening to positional language to art and craft, we hope you will enjoy this simple yet effective activity. The pupils will be challenged to identify the characteristics of the pebbles they wish to use (smooth, flat, rough, big, small etc), to key features of animals they want to recreate, to the different colour paint/pipe cleaners they will use. Challenge the pupils to paint and decorate their pebbles. When completed, place them in different locations both inside and outside the house, asking the pupils questions like‘where is the ladybird/bee/spider? ’ ‘what is it next to/under/above/in between? ’ ‘what colour is it? ’ ‘is the bee by the red flower or green plant? ’ Try to encourage your children by getting them to hide the pebbles for both yourself and their siblings! Email your photographs to enquiry@foxhollies. bham. sch. uk Additional ideas: Take pictures of where the minibeast is, display them on the laptop/ipad etc and using it as a morning routine, get your child to find the beast! To extend the activity, offer them a choice of two/three locations, can they identify which one it was at? Here are some music videos to give you some ideas!
