Week beginning 18 th May 2020 Primary 6 Home Learning Grid Literacy – Dance Monkey Maths- Shape Hunt Health and Wellbeing On slide 2 you will find lyrics to Dance Monkey by The Tones and I. Listen to the song using the QR code then answer the questions. How many 2 D shapes and 3 D objects can you find around your house? Look carefully to see what shape things are, create a table like the one below and draw a picture. Choose a small goal to complete each day. This could be learning something new or creating a new habit. For example; making your bed in the morning, daily exercise, helping wash the dishes or learning to make a cup of tea. This could be your class reading book, one of your own stories or The Holes pdf you received. Pick a part of the story you’ve read and create a diorama. You can write a summary describing what is going on in the scene. Maths/Numeracy - Time Using the table on slide 4, time yourself carrying out the following activities (or get someone to help). Repeat the activities once a day over the next 5 days and time yourself each time. A: Jump 20 times B: Throw a ball in the air and catch it 10 times in a row C: Say the alphabet backwards D: Hop on 1 leg 15 times without falling over E: Do 30 star jumps. F: Make up your own activity Maths/Numeracy Log onto Studyladder to complete your maths tasks or complete the Sumdog challenges. It is your choice to pick one or to complete both. Create a blog detailing your daily goals, whether you managed it, describing if it was difficult and how it made you feel. PE It is important for children to exercise daily to keep their body and minds healthy. Continue with your preferred choice of exercise. This could be following Joe Wicks, Cosmic Yoga or creating your own routine. Draw pictures or look for pictures in newspapers & magazines or on the internet for images of outdoor exercise. Discuss their ideas and what you like / dislike about them, with someone at home. French - Festivals Research a famous French festival. Find out when it takes place, where it is celebrated, how long it lasts and why they celebrate it? Use the information to create a poster. You can draw one or create it on a device. RME Meditation is recognised by doctors as beneficial to our mental health. Meditation has been around in different religions for many years. Expressive Arts Magazine Drawing Cut out an image from a magazine, newspaper or catalogue. Use your imagination to expand on the image. There is a larger example on slide 5 for you to look at. IDL – Outdoor Learning Thursday 21 st is Outdoor Learning Day. Try to spend some time playing outside or go for a nature walk. Choose some of the activities to take part in on slide 6. Spending time outdoors in great for your body and mind!
