WEEK 7: ADDING VIDEO & ACCESSIBILITY FUNCTIONS Adding Video Importing Video Edit Video (tool): • Trim (take off beginning or ending) • Crop (change the size of box) • Insert logo (watermark) • Change video (new staff? ) Closed Captions • Import (did someone do them for you? Do you have a long file without a script (You. Tube tool might be an option) • File types: . srt, . vtt, . sbv, . sub • DIY with the Add Captions Tool • “reading” wave from to identity phrases • Boxes are places to copy and paste text. Delete/split/add as needed. • Tip: do captions in pairs and start with second one, it lets you automatically know through deduction what the text should be in the previous box. • Player. Display. WEEK 7: ADDING VIDEO & ACCESSIBILITY FUNCTIONS Electronic Accessibility Standards Terms to be familiar with: ADA-Section 508 –all agencies that receive federal funding must ensure that all electronic forms of communication are accessible. WCAG 2. 1 (“woo-cag”)-Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. WEEK 7: ADDING VIDEO & ACCESSIBILITY FUNCTIONS Electronic Accessibility Standards For our purposes things to consider: Closed captioning in all videos Written scrips available for all narrations Alt-image tags to describe all content that appears in graphic (not text) form. Tab ordering of all elements, allowing user to navigate the course with tab and return and keys. This also indicates the hierarchical order of content for screen readers.
