Wednesday: Can you write a diary of all the fruit and vegetables you eat this week? What did you eat on Monday/Tuesday etc? Have you tried anything new? What is your favourite fruit and vegetable? Thursday: Follow the instructions on the recipe cards below to make Oliver’s Vegetable Soup? Can you chop the vegetables? Can you write your own recipe? What other vegetables could you put in? Can you describe how it tastes? Can you create your own recipe? Friday: Favourite vegetable - Which is your favourite vegetable? With the help of a grown up can you write a recipe using the vegetable?

Cornerstones (topic) Week 11 Understanding of the World Choose 3 vegetables. Can you predict which will weigh the most and which will weigh the least? Use scales to weigh the vegetables. Which is the heaviest? Which is the lightest? Can you find an object that is heavier and an object that is lighter than the vegetables? Look at the different fruits and vegetables in your home can you put them into different categories? Which have seeds / which are grown underground / which grow on trees / which are a similar shape? Think of your own categories too! Where in the world are your fruit and vegetables typically grown? Which countries in the world do bananas/pineapples/mangoes grow best? Can you find the places on a map? Week 11 Expressive Arts and Design Learning Challenges: Look at the picture below, Vortumnus’ by Giuseppe Arcimboldo. Can you create face using fruit and vegetables? Will you paint it? Make a collage? Use playdough? Use real vegetables? Make a dried pea shaker Print with different shaped vegetables If you have playdough can you shape it into different fruit and vegetables? Can you think of any songs that have fruit and vegetables in them?
