The Publicity Crew • The publicity crew is responsible for organizing an advertising campaign

The Publicity Crew • The publicity crew is responsible for organizing an advertising campaign and publicizing the show. • The advertising campaign should begin as soon as the cast is announced. • After rehearsals begin, prepare several publicity photos and stories to release to the local newspaper. • Show members of the cast in rehearsal or crew members working on interesting parts of the show. • Every picture should look like fun and make all who see it want to be part of the audience.

The House Crew • The person in charge of the house crew is known as the house manager. • The house crew is responsible for the following. • Printing tickets • Printing Programs • Managing the box office • Managing the house

The House Crew • Two types of tickets are commonly sold. Reserved seating tickets

The House Crew • Two types of tickets are commonly sold. Reserved seating tickets and general admission. • Reserves tickets require that all rows have a letter and all seats be numbered. These correspond to the tickets. • When a ticket is sold, that seat must be recorded on a master seating chart. • General admission means that all seats are one price and there are no reserved seats.

The House Crew • Play programs can vary in size, color, and even shape.

The House Crew • Play programs can vary in size, color, and even shape. • The program is printed to share important information with the audience. • The printed programs are passed out to patrons entering theatre. • After each performance, the house crew should follow the director’s instructions for handling extra tickets and money. Cash should be deposited in the bank or locked in a safe overnight. • Once the production has come to a close, the house crew is responsible for putting the house, ticket office, and lobby back in order.
