Why else do I need points? Honor cords! • In order to receive APh. A-ASP honor cords at graduation, members must meet the following requirements: 1. Attend a minimum of ONE National or Regional APh. A-ASP Meeting 2. Membership in APh. A-ASP since no later than the second year of the professional curriculum 3. Active participation in Chapter events, defined by earning at least 100 points in P 1 -P 4 years. -OR 4. Brief personal statement explaining significant contributions you have made to our Chapter as a student pharmacist. This option is reserved for those individuals who are unable to satisfy all of the above mentioned criteria 1 -3.

National Patient Counseling Competition (NPCC) Annual Event • • ONLY P 2, P 3, P 4 participation • Local Competition – 2 rounds – Preliminary round ~ 1 st week of January 2016 – Final round ~ 2 nd or 3 rd week of January 2016 – One local chapter winner chosen • National Competition – 2 rounds – APh. A Annual Meeting and Exposition – March 24 th – 27 th 2017 1 st place = paid trip to Annuals! 2 nd place = $125 3 rd place = $75
NPCC • Why should you participate? – Fine tune your counseling skills – Practice for practicals and receive feedback – Awesome prizes! – Looks good for your CV – Will help in interviews for future jobs/residencies – Network at Annual • Jill’s experience • How do you sign up? – Google Doc – Sign up for specific time slots will come out in the next couple of weeks • Counseling Review Power.
