Proposed conference programme profile WDS 2020 INTRODUCTION • Dairying will change greatly by 2040. • This is 20 years from 2020. • Climate and populations will shift where farms are located across the globe. • Sustainable dairying pre and post farm gate will be essential to survive in a volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous industry. • The conference will be for progressive, forward thinking role players in the primary and secondary dairy industry, who are serious about driving their business forward over the next 20 years.

Proposed conference programme profile WDS 2020 MONDAY: 28 September 2019 GENERAL IDF SESSION • • Session 1: OPENING SESSION Session 2: DAIRY LEADERS FORUM. • The Leaders Forum will be aligned to IDF Head office requirements. • The forum will not serve as a platform for Dairy Companies or any other businesses or organizations to further their own or company agendas. • The topics for this section will be topics of common challenge to the International Dairy industries. • This can include amongst other topics such as the impact of the fourth Industrial Revolution on the production of milk and the manufacturing of dairy products, the environmental challenges to the industry and the challenges that exist regarding the nutritional conflict between animal and plant based nutrition. • The CEO’S of various prominent companies including Manufacturing of Dairy Products (Nestle etc. ), Packaging (Tetra Pack) and others as we see fit during final collaboration will be used addressing the conference on specific topics of common interest. Session 3: WORLD DAIRY SITUATION REPORT Session 4: IDF – CREATING VALUE • Consumers and marketing trends • Food policies and regulation • IDF forum 7

Proposed conference programme profile WDS 2020 TUESDAY: 29 SEPTEMBER 2020 • THEMES: SUSTAINABLE DAIRYING FOR ALL and DAIRY ROLE IN FOOD SECURITY AND NUTRITION • The above mentioned themes will be the focus for the two plenary sessions (5 and 8) • Each plenary session will be followed by two parallel sessions with 3 speakers focusing on: • FARM MANAGEMENT (6) • NUTRITION AND HEALTH (7) • ANIMAL HEALTH AND WELFARE (9) • NUTRITION AND SUSTAINABILITY (10) • An IMP presentation will be take place during lunch • Poster sessions will be open during the whole day with authors available during tea and lunch at posters The principle of alignment of presentations in the plenary sessions is key to support a flow of scientific information on the subject of new developments in what is to follow in the speaker sessions (this is also applicable to the other days) 8

Proposed conference programme profile WDS 2020 WEDNESDAY: 30 SEPTEMBER 2020 • THEMES: MILK AND DAIRY AS PART OF A SUSTAINABLE DIET and SUSTAINALBE DAIRY SUPPLY CHAIN • The above mentioned themes will be the focus for the two plenary sessions (11 and 14) • Each plenary session will be followed by two parallel sessions with 3 speakers focusing on: • DAIRY SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (12) • ENVIRONMENT (PRE FARM GATE) (13) • SAFETY AND TECHNOLOGY (15) • ECO FRIENDLY DAIRY PROCESSING (16) • Poster sessions will be open during the whole day with authors available during tea and lunch at posters 9

Proposed conference programme profile WDS 2020 THURSDAY 1 OCTOBER 2020 • THEMES: INNOVATIONS AND STANDARDS FOR SAFE DAIRY and DAIRY OF THE FUTURE • The above mentioned themes will be the focus for the two plenary sessions (17 and 20) • The first plenary session (17) will be followed by two parallel sessions with 3 speakers each focusing on: • INNOVATION AT CONSUMER LEVEL (18) • HARMONIZED STANDARDS TOWARDS SAFETY (19) • The last plenary session (20) will be focusing on DAIRY OF THE FUTURE with two speakers followed by the CLOSING CEREMOMY 10

Proposed conference programme profile GENERAL • The WRAP UP sessions at the end of each day is also there for the various Standing Committees/Action Teams to determine their strategic approach going forward. • It is too early to propose any specific subjects for the presentations as this will also have to be determined after extensive consultation with the different standing committees. • All presentations will however be of an applied and scientific nature, i. e. no “commercial” presentations or presentations clearly advertising a specific commercial product or company, will be accepted. • The program will be finalised aligned to the different Standing Committees, their strategies and activities.
