BEFORE YOU BEGIN. . Learn Some Essential Facts. • • • All paints age from exposure to ultraviolet light, pollution and acid rain. Beautiful finishes gradually become rough, dull and chalky. Waxing alone cannot restore a paint’s original colour and life (body). The secret to a perfect gloss is “cleansing” the paint with Wax Wizard Cleanse” before you wax initially and again at regular intervals of around every six months. For show vehicles this operation maybe done yearly prior to the commencement of the season. Cleansing is a vital operation as this deep cleans the paint, removes old waxes and polishes, reduces or even eliminates swirl marks and revitalizes the top layers of the paint. Use Wax Wizard Cleanse prior to first time waxing. After the initial waxing, cleanse as needed to remove surface spots and embedded road grime. To make life simple, get into the routine of waxing your vehicle as often as possible as this will create a skin and reduce the number of time that you’ll have to cleanse.

3 Simple Steps To A Perfect Finish. 1. 2. 3. WASHING: is the process of removing loose surface dirt and grime from your vehicle’s paintwork and other areas. CLEANSING & CONDITIONING: Cleansing removes dead, oxidised paint as well as stubborn contamination (acid rain deposits, tar spots etc) that cannot be removed by washing alone. Conditioning restores valuable oils to the paint, eliminates fine scratches and swirl marks whilst creating an incredible high gloss. You will see a dramatic difference when you cleanse the paintwork on a dark coloured car. REPEAT EVERY SIX MONTHS IF A ROAD CAR OR YEARLY IF A WEEKEND/SHOW CAR. WAXING/FEEDING: waxes are designed for durability. Waxing will improve the shine (gloss) of the paint but its main function is to improve durability and to protect the paint.

Stage 1: Washing. • • 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. Wax Wizard Shampoo has the smooth, silky feel and aroma of a luxury body wash gel. Your sponge or wash pad will glide effortlessly over the surface removing road grime. Made with natural coconut oils and is p. H balanced and 100% biodegradable. Contains no wax, sodium, silicones or harsh solvents and will not remove existing wax. Directions: Ensure your vehicle is cool or in the shade. Rinse your vehicle thoroughly to remove loose dirt. Use a hose if at all possible. Wax Wizard shampoos are highly concentrated. Measure a level tablespoon full into a clean bucket. Fill with luke warm water to activate the concentrated shampoo. Wash your vehicle from the top down using a synthetic sponge, natural sea sponge, cotton terry towel or wash pad. As you wash the natural oils attach to surface dirt. Rinse often. These oils act as a lubricant and grit etc will gently slide off in the rinse water without scratching the paintwork surface. Use a separate bucket of water to clean wheels together with separate sponges to negate the migration of harmful brake dust particles. Rinse copiously preferably using a hose set to a spray pattern. Dry paintwork with a well rinsed chamois leather or artificial leather, clean terry towel or water blade. The use of a hobby pressure washer is highly recommended NEVER USE DISHWASHING DETERGENTS! This is because these have been developed to strip grease and oil and will actually accelerate the “drying out” of a painted surface. This is known as “detergent burn”.

Stage 2: Cleansing. • • This process will remove dead, oxidised (starved) paint, swirl marks, moderate scratches, tar and acid deposits etc and will reveal your original paint lustre for a dazzling wet-look show car gloss. Whilst cleansing it will feed essential oils to the top layers of the paint. It is impossible to restore completely oxidised colour coats or mis-formulation of the paint itself. Wax Wizard Cleanse No: 1 A soft but mild paint pre-wax cleaner, to be used initially after washing your vehicle. This almond based cleanse will remove trapped dirt, impurities, swirl marks, light scratches etc. Reveals a deep, wet look gloss and leaves the surface “squeaky-clean” ready for waxing/feeding. Easy to apply and to wipe-off. Paintable and clear coat safe Wax Wizard Cleanse No: 2 A richer and more powerful formulation designed to remove more stubborn/older contamination and more difficult swirl marks and scratches etc. Reveals a deep, wet look gloss and leaves the surface “squeakyclean” ready for waxing/feeding. Easy to apply and to wipe-off. Paintable and clear coat safe. To remove contaminants like industrial fallout, acid rain deposits, bug splatter, hard water deposits, bird and insect droppings, railway fallout etc. on paint, chrome, alloy or glass in seconds use a Wax Wizard/Erazer Clay Block. To be used in conjunction with Wax Wizard Quick Finish or Erazer Lubricant/Gloss Enhancer. This innovative product is a technologically advanced non-abrasive clay bar and it will leave the surface silky smooth ready for waxing. It is safe for all paint finishes including clear coats.

Stage 2: Cleansing…. Directions. • Wax Wizard/Erazer Clay Bar. Take a small section of paintwork, say half a front wing. Apply some product to the cotton terry towel applicator pad and massage well into paint. Immediately buff with cotton terry towel that is folded to size of a sheet of A 4 paper. DO NOT ALLOW PRODUCT TO DRY. Continue working around your vehicle until complete. Ensure to turn your buffing towel frequently to reveal a clean surface. Cleanse initially and repeat every 6 months (say April and October). Wash and dry applicator and towel in normal wash after use. Do not use fabric softeners. 1. Avoid getting product onto plastics. In case of cross contact, wipe immediately and buff with a clean towel. On more pronounced swirl marks apply pressure when applying cleanse. 5. Spray area to be worked with either Quick Finish or Erazer Lubricant/Gloss Enhancer Take one clay bar from container and place in palm of hand. . Glide the clay bar over the area but do not use any pressure. If you feel that the clay bar is sticking to the paint, apply more Quick Finish or Erazer Lubricant/Gloss Enhancer. You will feel the clay bar “eating” the contamination. When resistance is no longer felt, wipe area with a clean terry towel. Turn towel and buff. Repeat process until all effected areas have been clayed. It should take you no longer than 45 minutes to “clay” an average car. Don’t forget you can clay alloy wheels, glass etc. Clay bars are great for removing bug splatter, railway fallout etc. Be sure to wax any areas that have been clayed to restore any lost protection. Each clay bar will clean around five cars. When both sides have become dirty, warm clay bar in hands and knead. Pull (stretch) clay bar and fold to reveal a new fresh working surface. OPTIONAL. . Do You Want Extra Deep Wet Look Gloss? • • If your paintwork is a “flat” paint e. g. plain red, black, dark blue, dark green etc and is non metallic or has no lacquer coat, then this is for you! For this process you will require Wax Wizard Superior Hand Wax & Polish. This product is oil rich and is designed to replenish the lost oils originally in your paint. Furthermore, this product is extremely easy to use and the more coats you apply, the deeper the wet look gloss and depth of clarity and colour that will be regained. Shake bottle vigorously. Apply product to terry towel applicator and massage gently into paint over as wide an area that you can comfortably cover. The product takes a long time to “flash” as it is oil rich. Whilst the product is still wet, continue to massage into paint. Allow product to air dry for around a minute or so and during this time oils will sink into the paint. Taking a clean terry towel folded to a size of A 4 paper, wipe the area. Turn towel and buff briskly. One or two applications is usually sufficient to provide a deep wet look gloss. If you desire to apply additional coats, please be advised that saturation point will be reached after around 4 or 5 applications, as the paint will no longer be able to absorb any more oil. Your paint will now feel silky smooth. If you find that the product is streaking after buffing, this indicates that you need a clean towel! TIP: As this product is oil rich, you will find it useful to use at least 3 or 4 terry towels for buffing this product. Additionally, warming your towels in a tumble dryer will enhance the buffing leaving a streak free finish. This operation needs to be done only after cleansing.

Stage 3: Waxing/Feeding CONGRATULATIONS! • • • Congratulations on your investment in a range of the purest, most transparent waxes ever produced! Other waxes such as Light, Dark, Superior, Italian, Subaru, 911, 356, Performance and Divine have been hand crafted in Zurich, Switzerland, by a sister company, equally perfectionists, who care as much about your car as you do. Waxing frequently will lessen the damage caused by stone chips as the oil balance contained within the waxes will feed the paint. This in turn provides extra elasticity within the upper strata of the paint.

Stage 3: Waxing/Feeding. . Directions Part 1 • For these waxes (Magical Wax, Le Mans Wax, Merlin Wax, Audi/VW Wax, BMW Wax, Mercedes Wax, Jaguar Wax, Show Wax and Mystery Wax) proceed as follows: • • Ensure that you have cleansed initially or have washed and dried your car. Using the polyfoam applicator provided, wipe a very thin coat of wax over as big an area as you can comfortably reach. In practice this would equate to an area the size of a front wing or half a bonnet on larger panels. As soon as you have applied the wax, take one of the supplied 100% cotton terry towels and fold to the size of a sheet of A 4 paper. There is no need to allow the wax to dry out. Place your hand on the towel pad and then gently but briskly buff the wax to an incredible shine. Repeat this process around the car section by section, waxing and buffing as you go. It should take no longer than 30 minutes to wax a car the size of a Mondeo Estate. Ensure that you turn your towel frequently. TIPS: Always apply wax with a clean applicator. Store the supplied wax applicator in plastic bag supplied to keep it moist and ready for next use. Alternatively store the applicator inside the wax pot. Applying a second coat of wax, within 1 days, will deepen the gloss. . After that, reapply the wax regularly (I suggest once every 2 weeks) or when water stops beading or whenever desired to renew the gloss. “Le Mans” wax needs only to be applied once every 2 months. Wax the roof, boot lid and bonnet more often if your vehicle is exposed to direct sunlight or high temperatures. Ensure that each time you wash your car, apply wax to areas such as headlamps, light clusters, front air dam, wing/door mirror pods, etc as this will help to reduce damage from stone chipping and bug splatter. • • • Dirty or wax saturated buffing towels can produce an uneven gloss. Change to a fresh towel if the wax does not buff easily to a uniform shine. Carnauba wax is inherently hydroscopic and can occasionally streak on dark colours in times of high heat and humidity. Streaking is usually caused by applying too much wax or waxing a surface that is too hot. Always apply the thinnest coat of wax possible and work out of direct sunlight. If streaking occurs after buffing or if the gloss is uneven, lightly mist the surface with distilled or cold boiled tap water and re-wipe & buff with a clean towel.

Stage 3: Waxing/Feeding. . Directions Part 2 • For these waxes (Light, Dark, Superior, Italian, Subaru, 911, 356, Performance & Divine) proceed as follows: • • Ensure that you have cleansed initially or have washed and dried your car. Using the polyfoam applicator provided, wipe a very thin coat of wax over an area 3’ x 3’. Once you are well versed then you can increase the area but certainly no larger than area 1/3 rd the size of a bonnet. As soon as you have applied the wax, allow the wax to stand for 30 to 60 seconds and then take one of the supplied 100% cotton terry towels and fold to the size of a sheet of A 4 paper. There is no need to allow the wax to dry out. Place your hand on the towel pad and then gently but briskly buff the wax to an incredible shine. Repeat this process around the car section by section, waxing and buffing as you go. It should take no longer than 90 minutes to wax a car the size of a Mondeo Estate. Ensure that you turn your towel frequently. TIPS: Always apply wax with a clean applicator. Store the supplied wax applicator in plastic bag supplied to keep it moist and ready for next use. Alternatively store the applicator inside the wax pot. Applying a second coat of wax, within 1 days, will deepen the gloss. . Other Hints and Tips • Alloy Wheels • Glass Care • • • Follow usage instructions supplied with the product. Allow product to soak into grime and apply to all 4 road wheels. If heavily soiled agitate with a soft bristle brush that has no metal parts. Using a pressure washer, blast wheels to remove product and grime. If you do not have a pressure washer use a separate sponge and another bucket of luke warm. Rinse thoroughly with low pressure or running water direct from a hose. Drive car and apply brakes to clean rust marks from brake discs. If you find embedded brake dust on the rims use a clay bar and lube to remove. Wipe clean with a spare clean cloth. WAX YOUR WHEELS RIMS REGULARLY AS THIS PROTECTS AGAINST CONTAMINATION. • • • Ensure that you have washed loose dirt away and then towel or chamois dried. Follow directions on product bottle for correct usage. Always use a lint free cloth or a terry towel. When buffing dry to streak free finish always have a dry area of the cloth/towel. You can also use some old newspaper as this is very absorbent. We strongly recommend the use of Rain-X on all exterior glass work and that it be reapplied monthly for optimum performance. If you find by feeling, rough contamination on the outside of the windscreen, remove such contamination by using a clay bar. After claying a windscreen be sure to use Glass Cleaner to restore optimum visual clarity. If required re-apply Rain-X

A Useful Tip • • • Each year, from May through to October, your vehicles are “bombarded” by suicidal flies and insects. The result is what is known as “bug splatter”. On a vehicle that has just been prepared for the summer months i. e. cleansed and waxed, the sight of bug splatter spread over the frontal areas, makes the vehicle look untidy. The effected areas will be, the front air dam, leading edge of the bonnet, the headlamps, front number plate, wing or door mirror pods, driving lamps, the A pillars and the leading edge of the roof line. However, if your vehicle has been properly prepared for the summer months and waxed on a regular basis, then such removal of bug splatter is very simple and easy to carry out. There is no need for the use of chemical bug spray removers! The only articles required for this operation are a cotton terry towel, an indoor plant water misting bottle full of tap water. Methodology: Starting with driver’s door mirror, mist water to effected areas and proceed around the front of the vehicle finishing with the passenger door mirror. Ensure areas mentioned above have been misted. Starting again at the driver’s door mirror, take your terry towel and fold into a pad. Gently but with little pressure wipe away bug splatter. Continue like this around the front of the car finishing at the passenger door mirror. If stubborn deposits are encountered, apply a little more pressure. Turn terry towel inside out and fold again to form a dry pad. Starting again at either door mirror, gently buff effected areas to a high gloss. Time for this operation should be no longer than a few minutes. Every time you wash and dry your vehicle be sure to apply wax to the frontal areas of your vehicle. Do not forget to apply wax to such areas as lights, number plates etc. Never allow bug splatter to dry out for more than 48 hours (2 days).

How Do I Maintain That “Just Waxed” Look Between Regular Waxings? • • • Have you ever wondered how we maintain that “Just Waxed” look? Easy! We use either Quick Finish or Erazer LubricantGloss Enhancer. Taking a clean terry towel folded to the size of a sheet of A 4 paper, lightly mist an area of paintwork with the product. Wipe in one direction and you will see the product bead. Turn cloth to expose a dry area and buff gently until the paint surface is dry and glistening. On average you will need two terry towels for this operation. The product is best used after you have washed and dried the car. Application time should be no longer than 20 minutes to achieve a perfect finish. Keep a bottle of product and some towels in your car in case you arrive somewhere special and want to give your car a “buff” up. This is what we do before arriving at an event. People always ask how we manage to drive so far yet arrive so clean and shiny!

Frequently Asked Questions • • What is “p. H” balance and what does it mean? The term “p. H” is a measurement of the relationship between hydrogen ions and hydroxyl ions. When you have more hydrogen ions than hydroxyl ions, you have an acid. Like wise, if you have more hydroxyl ions than hydrogen ions you have an alkaline. Any solution with a water base has a p. H measurement. The p. H scale runs from 1 to 14. The first half of the scale (1 to 6. 9) represents acids and the second half (7. 1 to 14) represents alkaline. Pure water is neutral and has a p. H of 7. 0. If a substance does not contain water it will not have a p. H. If you know the p. H of a cleaner you can ascertain if it is acid or alkaline. This will help you to know where to use the cleaner. E. G. A carpet shampoo would have a p. H around 7. 5 to 8. 5, where as an acid based wheel cleaner would have a p. H of 6. 5 to 5. 0. Use the wheel cleaner on your carpet and you’ll land up with a right mess. Do I have to Cleanse every time I wax? No is the simple answer. Our waxes have absolutely no cleaning properties whatsoever. Cleansing is essential for the wax to bond fully to the paintwork. After the initial Cleanse, only a coat of wax is needed, which can be applied as often as possible. Cleansing is carried out at 6 monthly intervals if a daily road car or once a year on cars that only see week end use. I thought waxing was no longer necessary? WRONG! A car’s finish is exposed to countless environmental factors: catalytic emissions, bird droppings, acid rain, airborne salts, industrial fallout etc. If allowed to remain on the surface, they can actually turn into acid and then etch into even the most durable paint finish! Imagine what would happen if you brushed your teeth only once per year!! The build up could lead to costly repairs and disfigurement and you may never get your teeth looking as good as they did before. They key to easy care is frequent care! Early and regular removal of contaminants is of prime importance before they become a problem. What is “paintable”? Paintable is a term we use to describe products that are safe to use on fresh paint or in a body shop environment. Paintable products will not inhibit the curing process.

More Frequently Asked Questions • • • Why do you have so many cleanser’s and waxes? Some very well intentioned car enthusiasts use one cleaner as a general purpose tool for valeting their pride and joy. I often hear people say that they use a product like Jif (kitchen cleaner) to clean their wheels and Fairy Liquid to wash the car! This is both dangerous and harmful to the car. After all none of us would clean the kitchen with alloy wheel cleaner nor take a bath using Fairy Liquid, so why would we treat delicate car surfaces with harsh chemicals? We offer a wide range of well balanced products to do specific cleaning duties and they are all fully proven. The reason we have such speciality waxes such as Italian wax is because Ferrari in particular as well as Lamborghini and Maserati use Glasurite Series 21 paint. These manufacturers use only half the urethane hardener, thus making a two stage paint process a single stage. That is, they “shoot” (spray) base coat, colour coat and clear coats all at the same time to achieve the famed “wet look”. This makes the paint very, very dry and Italian wax replaces the oils in the paint to retain fluidity of the finish. How do I look after my towels and applicators? With the COLOURED SPONGE WAX APPLICATOR keep in the air tight plastic bag after expelling the air or keep inside the wax pot itself. The WHITE TERRY TOWEL APPLICATOR is to be washed after use in an ordinary wash cycle at 40’C and then left to air dry. Store ready for next use. The terry towels that we specify are to be washed after each use at 40’C. The nap of the terry towels protects the finish from particles caught between the surface and the towel. Towels can get soft and fluffy and very absorbent if fabric softener sheets are used in the tumble dryer. This will help reduce the amount of towel scratching that may occur. How long does a wax last? There is no single answer to how long a wax will last. There are so many variables that influence the life of the wax. In particular the amount of contamination the car is exposed to, the number of hours the car is kept outdoors etc all influence the life of the wax. The simple answer is wax as often as you can but as a minimum once per month.
