WATER POLLUTION
WATER POLLUTION- EFFECTS • Disease infected fish and or farm cattle. That causes lack of food sources. • Hurts the fishing industry in areas where fishing is a economic resource. • Humans get infected with diseases from drinking the water. Lack of clean water equals lack of water for sanitation.
DISEASES ASSOCIATED WITH DIRTY WATER. • Cholera- Watery diarrhea that can lead to dehydration. • Guinea worm disease- Vomiting and dizziness. • Typhoid- Fever and rash. 1/5 people die.
WATER POLLUTION- EFFECTS • Closes down ports near oil spills. • Farmers don’t do well if cattle or crop are contaminated by waste or oil. • Farmers can’t use the water for irrigation. • Tourist areas with beaches can’t be used.
UNEQUAL ACCESS TO WATERCAUSES • The Sahara covers 1/3 of Africa which makes water scarce in those areas. • Droughts in the Savanna and Sahel. • Countries try control rivers through dams.
UNEQUAL ACCESS TO WATERCAUSES • Lack of road access. • Not all countries have ports. • Not all countries have major rivers or lakes.
UNEQUAL ACCESS TO WATEREFFECTS • Conflict between countries over water. • Countries doing better than others economically. • Countries with access to rivers or ports allow for trade. • Population overwhelming to provide clean water.
UNEQUAL ACCESS TO WATEREFFECTS • People have to walk miles to get water. • Farming industry thriving in some areas and not in others. • Ability to have power through electricity from the dams. • Lack of water prevents economic growth.

DEFORESTATION AROUND THE WORLD.
DEFORESTATION EFFECTS • Lack of production hurts the agriculture industry. • Eliminates wildlife living in areas, endangering animals & plant life. • Elimination of tribal groups.
DEFORESTATION
DESERTIFICATION • What is desertification? • The process of fertile land turns to desert after soil is blown away • Happens in the Sahel the most.
DESERTIFICATION- CAUSES • Over farming • Herding (grazing) • Lumbering • Droughts
DESERTIFICATION
DESERTIFICATION- EFFECTS • Farmers and herders are hit economically. • Lost of billions of dollars worth of crop. • Spread of the Kalahari and Sahara Desert.
