Water is everywhere. Water is very important for life. All living things need water. We need water to drink, to wash our hands, to cook, to water plants and many other things.

How can we use water? Use a bowl instead of a running tap for washing vegetables - you can save about five litres of water each time. Plug the sink and fill it with water to wash dishes and cutlery - try and wait until you have a sink full, if possible. Avoid rinsing dishes before loading them into the dishwasher.

Water cycle The water cycle is the process of water moving around between the air and land. Or in more scientific terms: the water cycle is the process of water evaporating and condensing on planet Earth in a continuous process. This process has been happening continuously for millions of years and without it, there would be no life on Earth!

Flood When there is more rain than the soil can absorb, the excess water quickly runs into rivers and creeks, overwhelming storm drains and ditches and causing a flash flood.

Safe Water While most sources of public drinking water are closely regulated and safe to drink, many prefer to drink purified water. Purified water is relatively safe and may reduce exposure to certain contaminants that can be found in tap water
