Water Cycle By Kacey Jones Ms Tabors Science
Water Cycle By: Kacey Jones Ms. Tabor’s Science Class 2011
Water cycle is when water moves into the air as water vapors and comes back to the earth’s surface as precipitation.
Solids Ice is the solid of water.
Liquids Water is a liquid. Water can be seen in oceans , seas , rivers , and rain.
Gases Water in gas form is called water vapor.
The four kinds of Precipitations Snow Rain
The four kinds of Precipitations Sleet Hail
A cloud forms when water vapor in the air condenses.
Stratus Are low-level clouds that form in layers. Stratus cloud usually bring rain.
Cumulus Clouds are fluffy and are flat at the bottom.
Cirrus Clouds are thin clouds that look like feathers.
Cumulonimbus Clouds that bring thunderstorms.
The difference between climate and weather is…. Climate – is weather over a long period of time. Weather – the condition of the atmosphere at a certain time and place.
Thermometers Measures the temperature of the air.
Rain Gauge Measures Collects and measures the amount of precipitation that has fallen in a area.
Barometers Measures air pressure.
Wind Vane Measures direction of wind.
Anemometer Measures the speed of the wind.
Cold Front And Warm Front Cold front – cold air mass meets warm air mass and thunderstorms appear. Warm front – warm air mass meets cold air mass and layers of gray clouds and steady precipitation.
Summary I learned that barometer measures air pressure. My favorite part of this unit was doing all of the lab’s.
