Water. Aid/ Ernest Randriarimalala Juliette lives in Ambohimanatrika, a small village in Manjakandriana District, Madagascar. She has 6 children and 11 grandchildren.
Water. Aid/ Ernest Randriarimalala Juliette’s village has never had clean running water. The only source of water is a dirty groundwater pool. Water. Aid/ Ronny Sen Johary, Juliette's grandson, helps collect water, walking down a slippery slope 3 -4 times a day.
1 in 10 people around the world are denied access to clean water close to home. In Madagascar, that’s nearly half of the people. 9 in 10 people don’t have a decent toilet and 4 out of 5 people live in extreme poverty. Water. Aid/ Ernest Randriarimalala
This winter, Water. Aid is working with local partners to bring clean water to remote areas like Manjakandriana in Madagascar. Over 12, 000 people will get clean water, including nine schools and two health centres. Water. Aid/ Ernest Randriarimalala
A recent Water. Aid project has already brought life-changing clean water to a neighbouring village, Tsarafangitra. The village’s school got a new toilet block too. Water. Aid/ Ernest Randriarimalala With the support of groups like yours, a similar system will bring clean water to more communities in Manjakandriana District, including Juliette’s village.
