Point Source A single identifiable source of water pollution
Non-Point Source Water pollution that comes from a variety of sources picked up by run-off
�May be toxic (deadly) and results from oil spills, roadway runoff �Examples: Acids, fertilizers, pesticides, gas, & oil
�Radioactive wastes from nuclear power plants and leaks into groundwater
�Global warming increases water temperature → water holds less oxygen→ destructive to young fish
�Soil run-off causes water to become cloudy and shallow.
�May contain pathogens (diseases) and bacteria that are then passed on to humans
