Is my name more common among a certain group of people (for example, “My name is more common in the North than in the South because it is a common Italian name and many Italians live in the northern United States”)? Which famous people share my name? Has my name ever been used in a book, poem, or song?

Name Research • Ask your parents about your name. • You are going to write an “Explanation” essay. • You are going to write 3 paragraphs in class. For all 3 paragraphs, you can either choose to write them about your first, middle, or last name or a combination. You will begin the 1 st paragraph on Monday and write the 2 nd and 3 rd ones on Tuesday. Your homework on Monday will be to gather the information you need to complete the 2 nd and 3 rd paragraphs on Tuesday. 1. A paragraph about how your name has influenced your life 2.
