Social Learning Theory • Imitation • Learn behaviors form the role models • Take boxer war (1901) as an example (Other 7 countries wanted to gain benefits same as United Kingdom which won in opium war. Therefore, they imitated United Kingdom to start this war. )

Deindividuation • Loss of one 'sense of individuality • Decrease self-assessment , awareness • Example: Korean war film -Taegukgi: the Brotherhood of War (Jin lee and his brother Jin seok were forced to join war. War changed Jin lee. During the war, they lost. When they met again, lee could not recognise seok and wanted to kill him. . )

Relative Deprivation • What you have and what you think you should have • You feel unsatisfied and you want to get what you want. • Satsuma war (1877) (In Meiji japan, emperor implemented modern policies and wanted to abolish traditional policies. Traditional samurais disagreed and used war to change emperor’s mind. )

CONCLUSION • They are 3 psychological reasons to lead war. • War is complex. • There are penalty of reasons to lead a war such as religion, extreme nationalism, armament races!!
