Match Day • Arrive in good time to warm up and be ready to play on time. • Have the Team Sheet completed and hand to the Centre Manager before your game – they will stamp it. (they can be photocopied for weeks to come). • Tear your receipt from the bottom of the new Team Sheet and keep it. • Have a copy of your WGS available for Centre Managers and opposition coaches to check. (can be on your phone) • • Pay before your Play. • Hand in Team Sheet with scores before you leave. • Please take all litter off the pitch areas. Don’t go “Over the Top” at Half Time. Move between games efficiently. Make sure everyone is dressed for the weather.
Adverse Weather • • Decisions will be made by Centre Managers ASAP. Only Centres called OFF will be announced on Facebook – please refrain from calling to ask. All matches are on 3 G pitches from this season – this should mean fewer call offs. 3 G Pitches are mainly affected by Snow and Deep Freezing – NOT Rain. Surrounding areas, Roads or Cold Weather may be the reason to call off a Centre. We will always have a variety of opinions – our view is based on player safety. Try not to moan on Facebook – it doesn’t help
Rules - Sent out each month and on the League Website • • • Sin Binning is in operation for Player Dissent only. (8 minutes off the pitch) • Work WITH the Centre Manager and Referee and NOT against them – we all want the same thing but are coming from different viewpoints with different agendas – this should not affect the players. Only players should be on the pitch unless we have a real emergency situation. Coaches should always ask the ref before they come onto the pitch. Encourage your supporters to be fair and balanced – it is not a professional game. Supporters should only make Positive comments? No need for supporters to say “Ref” at all! Coaches should set a good example at all times to all people. Coaches are responsible for supporter behaviour – not always easy, but if a coach is positive it normally works well. Coach from the Centre on 3 G pitches. If you want to discuss “issues”, talk to the Centre Manager in private, not the Referees. Remember, many referees are often under 18 and should be respected and treated as such. • • The Referee may ask you to remove a player if appropriate. We will NOT operate the “Power Play” rule – (adding players), we will try to grade games to be appropriate to all. Winning coaches can also help by trying new players and formations etc.
NEW RULES - Last Season and this Season 19/20 Season Substitutions - Players leave pitch at the shortest point Managers & Coaches can receive Yellow and Red Cards Goal Kicks do not have to leave the penalty area. The ball is live as soon as it is kicked – we still have the retreat to half way rule. (May not have much effect in Mini Soccer) Free Kicks where a defensive wall is formed, Offensive players have to be 1 metre from the Wall – 2 Players is a wall. Dropped Balls - uncontested: -If the last touch before play was stopped was in the Penalty area. Dropped for the keeper -In all other cases the ball will be dropped for the team who last touched the ball -Opposition to be 5 yards away Dropped ball if the ball hits a match official and a team gains posession, starts an attack or scores a goal 20/21 Season Under 10's to play with a size 3 ball
IMPORTANT Grassroots Player Registration: Whole Game System update Where clubs are unable to register players by the league deadline for accepting players for the next round of fixtures because they cannot access WGS; Simply email ALBERTA WOOD with these details by Saturday evening: - Club name - Name of the team(s) - Age group (if a youth competition) - The name(s) and DOB(s) of the players they are intending to play that they have been unable to register in WGS - Person submitting the request, their club role and contact email address After the game clubs then register these players on WGS as soon as they are able to access the system. Submitting an email means these players will be considered registered for the clubs. As affiliated clubs they will be insured and therefore these players will have cover.
