Troubleshooting- mechanical Charging Method Diagram shows typical charging method. WM-J Training Refrigerant circuit checks
Troubleshooting- mechanical • Pressure gauge WM-J Training
Troubleshooting- mechanical • Pressure measurement Both valve closed WM-J Training
Troubleshooting- mechanical • Charging refrigerant LP valve close, HP valve open WM-J Training LP valve open, HP valve close
Troubleshooting - mechanical Vacuuming Method 1) Open the service port core cap. 2) Connect pressure gauge to the service port. 3) Connect the line to vacuum pump. Open the charging manifold valve and turn the pump on. Vacuum to – 0. 1 MPa (-760 mm. Hg) or lower. (Evacuation time varies by the pump but averagely in 1 hour). Troubleshooting-mechanical • Compressor Overload LED display - Blink 1 time (Cooling) When OD coil temperature > 68 °C, both the compressor and outdoor fan will stop operating. (Heating) When ID coil temperature > 68 °C, the compressor, outdoor fan and 4 way valve will stop operating. WM-J Training
Troubleshooting-mechanical Measure ID/OD on coil temperature > 68°C ? YES NO NO Sufficient airflow? YES Ensure no obstacle around the unit and conduct inspection on coil and filter. NO Connect correctly and operate again. Is the coil sensor correctly connected? YES NO Is the coil sensor resistance characteristics normal? Replace sensor. YES 2. 5 – 4 Ampere? Measure comp running amp. Within spec? NO NO Measure compressor winding resistance. Within spec ? Change compressor. NO Is compressor short body? YES Compressor OK YES Change compressor. Suction = 116 -154 psig Discharge = 297 -523 psig NO Measure suction pressure. Within spec? YES WM-J Training System ok. Unit overcharged. Recover all gas. Recharging with correct amount of refrigerant.
Troubleshooting-mechanical • Gas Leak LED display - Blink 3 times After compressor’s run time of 30 minutes is achieved, gas leak is declared if: ID coil temperature > 25°C (cooling) or < 20°C ( heating ) WM-J Training
Troubleshooting-mechanical Turn on the unit NO Is the coil sensor correctly connected? Connect correctly and operate again. YES NO Is the coil sensor resistance characteristics normal? Replace sensor. YES NO 2. 5 – 4 Ampere? Measure compressor running ampere. Within spec? Measure compressor winding resistance. Within spec ? NO Change compressor. NO Is compressor short body? YES Compressor OK YES Change compressor. NO Suction = 116 -154 psig Discharge = 297 -523 psig Measure suction pressure. Within spec? NO Detect the leak point? YES System ok. WM-J Training Fix the leak point. Refer to leak detection method.
Troubleshooting- mechanical • Hardware Error (tact switch pin open) LED display - Blink 6 times Possible root cause: ON/OFF tact switch accidentally pressed by front cover and could not restore back to normal position. WM-J Training
Troubleshooting- mechanical Visual inspection on the ON/OFF. NO ON/OFF pressed by cover? YES Press once on the ON/OFF button for 1 second. WM-J Training
Troubleshooting- mechanical • No feedback from indoor fan motor LED display OFF + Blink 4 times Possible root cause: Incorrect fan motor wire connection / defective fan motor. WM-J Training
Troubleshooting- mechanical Check fan motor wire connection. Correct? YES ` Check fan motor and replace with another motor. WM-J Training NO Reconnect in correct position.
