Activity Title: Tortoise and Hare Relay Grade Level: 2 nd Location: Area outside marked ahead of time if weather allows, if not then inside the gym. Duration: 15 -20 minutes Skill: Locomotor skills of Walking, jogging, and running and the progression on of each of these skills.

Materials needed for this Lesson: • Cones (Mark designated areas outside to perform tasks

Materials needed for this Lesson: • Cones (Mark designated areas outside to perform tasks and complete lesson • Batons (each with different instructions such as, Long stride walk, run swing arms, and so on).

Get Set… • Activity will be explained to students, including instructions, safety, demostration, and the purpose of the lesson. • Students will be divided into groups of 3 -4, eahc student will be given a beginner level baton to start the lesson. • Students will start lesson by demonstrating the given instruction on the baton.

GO… • After performing the given baton for a lap, the students will then
