Open Eyes: Description To further develop and deploy the Open Eyes application for NHS Wales Benefits Ø Improve the integration, access and sharing of eye care information Ø Triage ophthalmic optician referrals to ophthalmologists with an expected reduction of new referrals
Open Eyes: Project Deliverables 1. Implementation of Open. Eyes in 1 hospital per Health Board to support virtual and traditional outpatient clinics 2. Build national infrastructure to support Open. Eyes on an all Wales basis 3. Migrate the Cardiff and Vale instance of Open. Eyes to the National infrastructure 4. Development and testing of the referral module 5. Implementation of the referral module: Ø Minimum of 1 Optometry practice per Health Board Ø 1 hospital in each Health Board 6. Develop the integration roadmap for Open. Eyes in Wales 7. Develop the service management transition plan and support model
Optometry Connectivity: Project Deliverables 1. Connection of Optometry Practices to the NHS Wales network (438) 2. Delivery of an NHS e. Mail account and Open. Eyes to each practice 3. Establish a one-off IT allowance scheme to fund Optometry practice IT
