WHAT WENT WELL THE SHOTS - I was happy with most of the shots and I believe most of them if not all of them had a nice effect and definitely played with the sinister look that I was going for. In my opinion most of the shots were aesthetically pleasing and overall I like the mise-en-scene. THE SOUND - I believe the sound that I found for my short film went very well and overall helped illustrate my story better. It helped a lot with the jump scare that I had and went well with the visuals in my opinion. It also helped create the atmosphere and gave my film horror feel in my opinion. Besides not being able to implement the voiceovers I had planned. THE EDITING - Although I didn’t have all the shots that I planned to have due to location errors and acting errors so when it came to editing I didn't have all the shots I want and didn't have enough footage for what I wanted to portray.
WHAT DIDN'T GO SO WELL THE LOCATION - During production, not everything went completely to plan, the location was at my house was fairly difficult to use as a location to film since my house was being redecorated at the time and I had to work around everybody else's time. So when it came to editing I didn't have all the shots I want and didn't have enough footage for what I wanted to portray. THE VOICEOVER - Throughout my voice I was going to have the voice over of my main character. But at the end, I ran out of time to record it. I planned to have voiceovers when the main character was writing in his diary to help tell the story and show the conflict that the character is going through. Since there is no voiceover there about 20 seconds worth of footage where he is writing in his diary and unfortunately there is no voiceover. Not only does this make the film seem boring but it will most likely confuse my audience. THE LIGHTING - Since I recorded the short film at night and I didn’t have access to any lighting besides what I had at my house, a lot of the shots are light badly and look an orange colour. Other than this some of the shots also have a orange tinge and I couldn’t remove that in post as it just made the shots looks worse.
