VISUAL BASIC PROGRAMMING SYLLABUS Instructor: Ms. Garrett Email: garrettc@aaps. k 12. mi. us I. Materials to be covered • Introduction to programming in Visual Basic. NET. Programming is an exciting challenge. You will actually be learning how to write a program, instead of just running a program that somebody else wrote for you! • Lab exercises in Visual Basic. NET • Computer Fundamentals (we work in a PC environment) • Activities designed for cooperative learning /student interaction. • Basic HTML tags -- you will learn how to use Visual Basic. NET to create web applications. II. Grading Students will be graded on a total points system. Points are earned with the following: • Programs and web applications • Tests -- Programming and Theory • Classroom participation • Homework Your grade is calculated on a straight percentage scale.

Visual Basic Programming Syllabus III. Make-up Policy – If you are absent it is your responsibility to find out what you missed and get it made up. Any missed assignments have to made-up within one week of the due date. (excused absences only). IV. Textbooks – Visual Basic. NET (Class set, books remain in classroom) V. General Information – – You have to make sure that you understand all of your programming assignments. Programming quizzes are given regularly. I do this so that I know exactly where you stand at all times. You may work together on most programming assignments. Make sure that you aren’t just copying though! If you copy, it will just show up on your programming quizzes and final exam. If you need extra help, be sure to get it immediately. Don’t wait until the end of the semester and try to get a semester of learning in two days. This class is very hands on. However, there is a need to lecture every once and awhile. During these lectures, everyone must focus and participate. I do grade notes and classroom participation.
