Jamaican Artists – Masters of colour, material and textiles • • Art is a vibrant sector of the Creative Industries Edna Manley – “pioneer of Jamaican art” Albert Huie the “Father of Jamaican Painting” Mallica “Kapo” Reynolds is hailed as one of Jamaica’s most profound self taught artists. • David “Jack” Pottinger has been recognised as one of Jamaica’s prolific painters. • Barrington Watson - one of the most influential figures in art in independent Jamaica

JAMCOPY – the national RRO • • One of 3 CMOS in Jamaica Established in 1998 Direct mandates – publishers and creators Mandates authorise licensing of reprographic uses • Creators include visual artists of all genre • Currently licenses government, education, copyshops • Very small royalty returns from reprography for visual artists
