Visitor Centre Assistant – Windsor (v 1 APR 18) Job summary A visitor centric role to deliver high levels of customer service, retail and membership sales. Essential functions of the Job Experience required • Welcome visitors and deliver high levels of customer satisfaction; • Process transactions on the tills (and telephone) in an efficient, professional and courteous manner, engaging with the customer to maximise sales; • Prepare tickets, vouchers and leaflets in advance for coach parties, liaising with group leaders/guides as required; • Welcome group visitors, boarding coaches to provide information and answer questions; • Liaise with the Visitor Services Team on car park issues, if unable to assist in the first instance; • Answer telephone calls and direct calls as required; • Replenish and maintain stock presentation on the sales floor to required standards; • Maintain stock knowledge to offer advice to customers and maximise sales opportunities; • Maintain knowledge of benefits of Membership and car parking passes and take every opportunity to communicate benefits and upsell to customers; • Handle queries and complaints, referring upwards if necessary; • Ensure the Duty Manager is informed, without delay, of potential critical incidents; • Contribute to improvements in customer service/retail sales or operations in general; • Assisting with additional duties to support events and special promotions; Skills required • • • Friendly and welcoming; Reliable and adaptable; Clear communication skills; Flexibility in responding to changing circumstances, ; Team player. Proven ability in a retail sales environment; Experience in a customer service environment; Experience of till/cash handling; Numerate; Basic IT skills; Up to date certificate ‘First Aid at Work’ desirable.
