Vision (Where we are going): • Vision Statement: (Desired End-State) A one-sentence statement describing the clear and inspirational long-term desired change resulting from an organization or program’s work. • Your program GOALS are a key part of your vision statement.
A vision statement: (Future tense!) • A vision statement takes into account the current status of the program, and serves to point the direction of where the department wishes to go. • As a means of setting a central GOAL that the department will aspire to reach, the vision statement helps to provide a focus for the mission of a department. • The vision statement is not about what the department is currently doing, but what the department hopes to achieve.
A vision statement is: • Aspirational in that it's about your goals.
