NOTE: Test temperatures will be listed on Floor Lab Worksheet for each sample and also by the analysis code in Labworks. 4. 1 5 Obtain the CP value for samples using the following table: Sample CP FCC Charge 25 – 500 HC Frac 25 – 500 HC Feed 25 – 500 HT Feed 250 – 5000 DAO 25 – 500 Scroll down to highlight “Operate”, press Enter. NOTE: Samples should be heated prior to testing to make pourable. 6 Fill measurement chamber to line with sample (approximately 1. 5 ml). 7 Choose piston (piston box is labeled showing which piston corresponds to various CP values). 8 Use hemostats to remove piston from box and place piston (knob up) into measurement chamber. 9 Push piston to bottom of chamber. 10 Place insulating cap on chamber NOTE: Also place cooling sleeve on chamber if sample is DAO. q Procedure Completed Date: Prepared By: Approved By:

NOTE: If analyzer gives error the method must be changed and piston size must be increased to bring the reading into the correct range. If still errors using largest piston report › 5000 result. 13 Once test is completed, ensure test temperature is stabilized and record CP reading to 1 decimal place for results ‹ 1000 and to the nearest whole number for results ≥ 1000. 14 Pour sample into oily waste container while still warm. 15 Attach tissue to hemostats to clean measurement chamber – if needed toluene can be used by applying a small amount to the tissue. q Procedure Completed Date: Prepared By: Approved By:
