Raising Attainment In Literacy – Key Outcomes North Lanarkshire resource will be used from P 1 -P 7 to develop children’s skills and confidence in story writing Pupils will write with a clear purpose and participate in school, local and national writing competitions School policy will be developed for the teaching of phonics and reading at Struthers Primary School Develop display and update regularly showing progression of writing from P 1 -P 7 Implement recovery boost groups from Early to Second level with a focus on closing the gap

Raising Attainment In Numeracy – Key Outcomes Implement Number Talks and Big Maths progressions in all classes Staff will work collegiately to understand, reflect upon and implement the South Ayrshire N&M Strategy and our N&M policy Provide CLPL opportunities for all staff through the embedding Maths Mastery programme with a termly focus of Maths Mastery approaches Termly Outdoor Learning N&M activities planned in consultation with pupils and carried out in all classes Promoting pupils leading learning through a Maths Challenge Day led by second level pupils

School Lunches/Free School Meals Hot meals will return after the September weekend P 1

School Lunches/Free School Meals Hot meals will return after the September weekend P 1 and P 2 will eat in the dinner hall but P 3 -7 will remain in classes (this is due to restrictions in seating arrangements in the hall) Pupils can choose to bring a packed lunch from home or order a hot meal from the dinner hall. Lunches can be pre-ordered or pupils can place an order with their teacher in the mornings.

Physical Education P. E. continues to take place outdoors only. On Monday 14 th

Physical Education P. E. continues to take place outdoors only. On Monday 14 th September, new guidance for physical education will be issued to schools – we will update parents accordingly When P. E. can happen indoors again, pupils should bring a gym bag with shorts and gym shoes/indoor trainers. Gym bags will not be stored in school and should be brought to and from school on P. E. days
