VIPR is a Forest Service acquisition/procurement system ◦ Web-based ◦ Vendors to submit offers & sign preseason agreements ◦ Inspectors to certify that equipment requirements have been met ◦ Contracting Officers to issue solicitations, award & administer agreements ◦ Provides Dispatch Priority Lists (DPLs) to dispatch

VIPR Not intended for initial attack ◦ Used for extended attack, large fire support & severity Does not affect agency & local cooperator resources from being utilized Date/Time Needed ◦ Vendor with Best Value on DPL who can meet date/time needed
VIPR ROSS interface with VIPR scheduled for 2011 Decisions from National Coordinators Meeting in SLC last week: ◦ All tactical & some non-tactical resources (engines, skidgines, water tenders) will be statused in ROSS ◦ Some resources will be service items & will fill with agreement (porta-potties, tents)
