Video Production Positions - Producer • Responsible for the overall production • Has final say • Assigns jobs

Video Production Positions - Director • Makes the script come alive • Tells the camera operators which shots to get • Tells technical Director which video sources to take to • Makes all decisions in the control room regarding programming

Video Production Positions – Technical Director • Uses the video mixer to transition from shot to shot, as per the Director • Sets up the shots with camera operators via headphones • Responsible for technical settings – audio and video levels, chroma key, etc.

Video Production Positions – Camera Operator • Operates the cameras in the studio • Responsible for making sure cameras are technically in good shape and working

Video Production Positions – Audio Engineer • Responsible for the audio quality of all sources • Performs audio checks before the recording begins

Video Production Positions – CG or Mac operator • Operates the character generator or computer • Makes sure graphics are spelled correctly before recording begins • Responsible for bringing up graphics as the director calls for them

Video Production Positions – Videotape Operator • Operates and cues up all playback machines – DVD players, videotape recorders, CD players, etc. • Starts record machine at Director’s say so • Stops record machine at Director’s say so

Video Production Positions – Floor Manager • Acts as the Director’s voice in the studio • Hooks up microphones and attaches to the talent • Gives directions to talent and camera operators when necessary • Interacts with the talent • Responsible for a smooth flow in the studio
