Vibe Magazine Contents The masthead for the contents
Vibe Magazine Contents • The masthead for the contents page is in black and bold, this is done so the masthead stands out and so the customer knows it’s the contents page and this is clear to them. The word ‘contents’ is structured in a 3 line method. I believe this is done so that it becomes a trademark for vibe magazine, so as soon as someone see’s this contents page they can guess it’s the contents page of vibe magazine. • We can also see a big grey ‘V’ going right through the middle of the contents page. This is also another way of helping customers understand that this is vibe magazine. • The main image of global rapper Kanye West dominates the contents page. This is done so all the focus of the customer is fixed on Kanye West as he is on the cover and the contents page of the magazine. Kanye West’s facial expression shows us his confidence and we can see that he thrives off his huge reputation worldwide. Kanye West also looks calm, relaxed and composed this is also seen in his facial expression. • The background is white but has a hint of light grey gradually increasing. This makes the page look sophisticated and professional. The background colour is very light so it doesn’t take the focus off of Kanye West but still looks aesthetically p-leasing. • There is also a caption which directs the customer straight to the page in which the featured artist is on. • Only a few pages are shown on the ‘features’ and ‘fashion’ section because the magazine has pointed out all the important articles that they believe will interest the customers. Different fonts are used on page numbers so that the customer doesn’t lose interest when looking at the contents page and get bored of seeing the same font.
