The Course Once you have accessed VIA, through the link on your Blackboard course

The Course Once you have accessed VIA, through the link on your Blackboard course page; CLICK on a course to view the associated assessments.

The Assessment • Top RIGHT- You do not need to create an activity. Assessments

The Student List Awaiting Submission- Student has not uploaded work. Awaiting Assessment- Student has uploaded file(s); assessment can be scored. CLICK on the row with the student’s name you would like to score.

View or Download Student Work On the LEFT- Hover your mouse over the student

View or Download Student Work On the LEFT- Hover your mouse over the student submission and CLICK to View or Download student work. On the RIGHT- The condensed version of the Rubric will be visible.

Scoring the Rubric Once you have opened the student submission in VIA (as above)

Scoring the Rubric Once you have opened the student submission in VIA (as above) or downloaded the file(s), you are ready to score. Please NOTE: Scoring & Feedback textboxes are OPTIONAL, feel free to enter a score and/or feedback or simply leave them blank. “Comment List” is not applicable to scoring rubrics and should be disregarded. You may score directly on the condensed rubric or choose to score the full (detailed) Rubric.

Assessment Panel CLICK directly on a box to score OR CLICK on “View Rubric Details” VIEW scoring criteria by hovering your mouse over the boxes.

Rubric Details On the Detailed Rubric, you may CLICK and type comments in the

Rubric Details On the Detailed Rubric, you may CLICK and type comments in the Comment Box. These comments will be visible to students when they click on “View Rubric Details. ” You may score by CLICKING directly on the boxes; to return to the student submission CLICK on “Close. ” .

Undo If you have completed scoring, but would like to make a change, simply

Undo If you have completed scoring, but would like to make a change, simply CLICK “Undo. ” The rubric will retain the original scoring, but it is now editable; make any desired changes then CLICK “Submit. ”

Request Revision To allow a student to resubmit, CLICK “Request Revision. ” The student

Force Submit If students have not submitted work, but you would like to assess

Force Submit If students have not submitted work, but you would like to assess them anyway, open the dropdown menu (top right) by clicking on the three dots. CLICK on “Force Submit. ” Next CLICK “Force Submit” in the new window. Now all students will be “Awaiting Assessment” and you can score as usual.

Rollback is effectively the opposite of Force Submit, selecting Rollback will move ALL students

Rollback is effectively the opposite of Force Submit, selecting Rollback will move ALL students from “Done” to “Awaiting Assessment, ” and from “Awaiting Assessment” to “Awaiting Submission. ” This gives faculty the flexibility to make adjustments as needed. NOTE: If you have scored and submitted a rubric, the score will be retained, otherwise rolling back to Awaiting Submission will delete any saved (but not submitted) scores.

Observational Workflow This is currently ONLY APPLICABLE to the In. TASC Observer Disposition in

Observational Workflow This is currently ONLY APPLICABLE to the In. TASC Observer Disposition in the initial teacher licensure courses. When AERO sets up a rubric with an Observational Workflow, there is no option for students to upload and you may score the assessment at any time.
