Firth Park Road Traffic Calming Scheme • In order to allow the above scheme to be fully completed without a delay we request approval of £ 11, 000 from the 2011/2012 North East Community Assembly LTP Highway Allocation.

Small Schemes Highways Budget • Request approval of £ 2, 000 per ward for the provision of small highway schemes to allow the programme to continue until the full budget is approved.

Small Highway Schemes • The number of requests for small highway schemes are far

Small Highway Schemes • The number of requests for small highway schemes are far in excess of the budget available. • The members have voted to target their resources where they will help the most people. • This means that requests for areas where there are high numbers of pedestrians will take priority such as: • Shopping areas • Doctor’s Surgeries • Public spaces and parks • Measures to improve pedestrian access to facilities, such as bus stops, libraries across road junctions etc.

Small Highway Schemes • Each Ward will have a sum of money to spend

Small Highway Schemes • Each Ward will have a sum of money to spend on small improvements to the Highway network. • These improvements are generally classed as measures to assist local residents to more easily move around the local area. • To prevent dangerous vehicle parking practices i. e. on grass verges or footways. • All of the suggested improvements are prioritised by the local Ward Councillors who know the local area. • Some measures that have been suggested in the past are:
