Linking Verbs
Definition • A linking verb links the subject of a sentence with a word or expression that identifies or describes the subject.
List of Linking Verbs • All forms of the verb to be Is, Are, Was, Were, Will Be, ETC. Some other descriptive linking verbs: Appear, Become, Feel, Grow, Look, Remain, Seem, Smell, Sound, Stay, Taste, ETC
Example Sentences • • The man is president of the club. The sandwich smells wonderful. I will be an actor. They looked very professional.
