Деепричастия и вид Verbal Adverbs and aspect VA have no tense (time of the action depends on the main verb), but do have aspect! Imperfective = simultaneous with main verb: Читая её письмо, он смеялся. Читая её письма, он всегда смеётся. Читая её письмо, он будет смеяться.
Деепричастия usage and meaning: Watch out! English may contain words not found in Russian! Он женился на ней, не зная, что она лесбиянка. = He married her without knowing she was a lesbian. Она ушла от него, не узнав, что и он голубой. = She left him without finding out that he too was gay.
Деепричастия Formation of imperfective verbal adverbs Start with 3 rd person plural: читают говорят Remove the ending: читаговор. Add -я читая говоря (remember spelling rules, and add -сь for reflexives)
