WHAT IS VENTURING? • Venturing is a youth development program of the Boy Scouts of America for young men and women who are 13 (and completed eighth grade) through 20 years of age.

OTHER FACTS • Venturing does not require a “Class A” uniform – Crews may decide upon their own uniform • Venturing events are set up to be fun events – High Adventure – Fun Social Activities

LEADERSHIP POSITIONS IN A CREW Crew President Youth leader who works with the Advisor to plan fun events for the Crew Vice Presidents Helps the President to plan events, and works on others projects as assigned Crew Activity Chairs Works with an Associate Advisor to put together details for events Crew Advisor Head adult leadership position Crew Associate Advisors Help the Advisor with assigned tasks

6 AREAS OF EMPHASIS CITIZENSHIP FITNESS OUTDOORS SERVICE SOCIAL LEADERSHIP Volunteer at a local nursing home Go to the local recreation center to go swimming or use the gym Go hiking, skiing, canoeing, camping, etc. Rake leaves for the older members of your church Have a movie night, pizza party, etc. Teach youth the leadership skills they will need in their future
