Ventilation Cleaning Product description
Ventilation system types Balanced ventilation background: 1. 2. 3. Heat recovery Freshair filtration Newer houses has this (Mandatory from 2010, common from 2000) Note: Kitchen fan is in separate channel due to fire and cross contamination risk
Exhaust only ventilation Common in older houses. Fresh air through valves, or opening in top of windows. Energy in efficient and may cause draft
Ventilation system types
Ventilation system types Note: Normally filter only on innlet. Filter may be spesified to stop alergen “Hepa / H 7” Kitchen ventilation may be directed through same unit but is then separated physically from other flows Heat recovery either rotational or x heat recovery.
X flow heat recovery Common on older heat recover units Roughly 60% efficiency No cross contamination No moving parts
Rotating heat recovery unit The most effectiv heat recovery +/-80% recovered (70% is now minimum requirement) May cross contaminate air
Process 1. 2. 1. Find the ventilation unit and check if there is any alarms on it before taking picture of settings and turning it off. 1. If everything is OK – turn it off and take of the front plate. Locate the suction pipe, remove the filter and figure out how to connect the 160 mm "Anaconda" hose to the suction pipe. Connect the other end to the suction side of the VT 1500 using the metal clamp If unable to connect the suction pipe to the ventilation unit – connect directly to one of the other suction pipes in the system Check fan motors, abeling and fan rotor for wear, and damage. Clean as needed Check heat recovery unit: 1. X flow type clean as needed 2. 3. 4. 51305 Define all roms that have suction pipes, normally you will find this in bathrooms, laundry rooms (and toilets) and kitchen Take of all the nozzles and clean them, use vaccum cleaner first and soap and water afterwards– pay attention NOT to adjust the setting of the nozzles and to return them to the same exhaust channel – NB takeoff, clean and refit before starting channel cleaning opperation to avoid reduced vaccum. 2. Rotational heat recovery unit check motor and fan belt Connect the white filterbag to the other 160 mm port on the VT 1500 and connect the power plug to 220
Process 9. 10. Use the correct length of brush wire – 3, 5 or 10 m and connect the correct brush (125 mm, 180 mm or 250 mm). Remember to use the locking nut and tighten with tools to avoid the brush to fall of inside the pipe Connect a screwdrill and set this to a low torque to avoid to break the pipes if the brush get stuck. Secure locknut well before startin to avoid loosing brush. Max torques and speed: 1. 2. 11. 12. 13. 14. 15. Going CW: 3 Nm, 1300 r/min Going CCW: 1, 5 Nm, 650 r/min Start the VT 1500 and push the brush gently into the suction pipe while the brush is rotated CW Keep pushing the wire gently into the pipe and let it pull itself in by rotating it CW with the screwdrill. Take special care if the pipes are the flexible aluminium pipes as they are fragile The target is to clean the pipe all the way up to the ventilation unit, but if this is not possible, we clean as far as we come. Most of the dust will gather in the start of the pipe. When the end is reached, run the drill CCW while gently pulling back the brush. Repeat brushing for all suction pipe outlets (including the one you possibly connected the suction «Annaconda» to).
Process 16. 17. 18. 19. 20. 21. 22. 23. 24. Turn of the VT 1500, disconnect the "Anaconda" hose and the filterbag. Use a vacuum cleaner to clean inside the ventilation unit Register make and model of ventilation unit – use picture of modell sign – make sure it is fully readable Replace filters with clean one's if customer has ordered this from us. Register type of filter or size if type and model is not clear Find all supply nozzles and clean them with soap and water Reinstall the cleaned supply nozzles, make sure to wipe all dirt properly of the nozzles and ventilation unit. Put power back to the ventilation unit and turn it on using samme setting as when you arrived, verify that the units starts. Clean thoroghly up! The whole process takes 1, 5 hours MINIMUM to perform properly
