Operational Rations • Approved USMC Rations – MRE’s, MORE’s, UGR-M & UGR-H&S – Other rations require HQMC approval • FSR, MCW or UGR-A • Current Ration Related Initiatives – Review T/E, T/O and Ration Mix – Ongoing Structure Reductions/Grade Shaping impact on deployed food service support and service capability • 47% loss since 2002, future additional losses – – Use of UGR-A’s is not supportable (refrigeration/distribution) Small unit training team feeding: 4 -6 Marines per team Alaska and Australia training challenges USMC growing to 185 (from 182 K) but could go to 194 K 2

Taking too long to upgrade! • UGR-H&S • Continue to be used for short and initial feeding prior to UGR -M’s. • Continue to refine and refresh menu’s • FSR • Need to have the full 9 days ration mix • MRE’s recent comments: • Heater in cold environments is a problem 3
