User Management • Creation of usernames and passwords • Allocation of rights, privileges, and access Audit: Need to assess whether employees have appropriate access, determine if shared accounts are being utilized, perform user access testing, and determine if organizational and governmental policies for password updates are being followed
Printers ● Shared printing ○ Submit printing jobs to a central unit ● Special printer management software Audit: Need to assess the security of the wireless network and whether data sent over the network is encrypted
Email ● Widely used productivity tool that requires connection to the Internet ● Policy: ● ○ Email software that can be used ○ Maximum storage capacity ○ File sizes that can be transmitted Company-specific email address ○ Creation and maintenance of an email server Audit: Assess the competency of employees to not fall victim to email attacks (i. e. phishing)
System Administrator Deploying new software applications Updating the operating system Audit: Impersonating MAC address. Locking workstation so only system administrator can do these three things. Maintain the newest version of software programs

The computers are able to access shared files and utilities from a central location. There are several advantages to this type of environment, ranging from increased quality control to performance and issue management.
